Provincial School Outreach provides its supports and services in coordination with other provincial outreach and resource programs that are specialized in a wide range of areas that are integral to supporting student success. Auditory Outreach Provincial Resource Program
Auditory Outreach, in collaboration with provincial centres, local audiologists and other service providers, assists public and independent schools throughout the province to address the needs of school-aged students with hearing loss.
Inclusion Outreach
Inclusion Outreach assists school teams and families in developing meaningful and inclusive programs for K-12 students with multiple and complex disabilities within BC schools.
Provincial Outreach Program for Autism and Related Disorders (POPARD)
POPARD provides consultation, training and support services to all public and independent schools across the province with a primary focus on increasing the capacity of school district staff to support students with autism spectrum disorder.
Provincial Outreach Program: Deaf and Hard of Hearing (POPDHH)
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing provincial outreach program collaborates with school districts in meeting the needs of all Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. The program supports educational teams in addressing the unique communication and learning styles of individual Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Provincial Outreach Program for Students with Deafblindness (POPDB)
POPDB consultants work with school districts and school-based teams to ensure that the unique needs of the student with deafblindness are being met, and that each student is receiving an appropriate educational program. POPDB’s goal is to empower the people providing the day-to-day support to fully understand the impact that deafblindness has on their student’s ability to learn and to provide them with the most effective techniques and strategies that grow with the changing needs of the student.
Provincial Outreach Program for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (POPFASD)
The Provincial Outreach Program for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (POPFASD) shares current research, ideas, strategies, training and resources in order to build capacity in school districts for students with FASD and their teachers.
Provincial Outreach Program for the Early Years (POPEY)
The Provincial Outreach Program for the Early Years (POPEY) has a mandate to increase K-3 educators’ capacity to support all primary English literacy learners. POPEY provides services and supports to primary educators in BC public school districts and Group I and II independent schools.
Provincial Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired (PRCVI)
The Provincial Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired (PRCVI) is mandated with providing learning resources, leadership, information, training, and consultation to support school districts’ and independent schools’ goals of ensuring equitable access and enhanced educational opportunities for students with visual impairments including those with additional exceptionalities.
Special Education Technology BC (SET-BC)
SET-BC provides BC students, classrooms, schools, and districts with the services, technology, and support needed to better educate students with complex needs.
